Before you go.

What to confirm on the park’s official website before a water-park day.

Is the park open on your date?

Water parks publish operating calendars, and many change them during the season. Outdoor parks usually open in late spring and close in late summer or early fall. Indoor parks can also close for maintenance or run shorter weekday hours. A listing here is not confirmation that a park is open on a particular day.

184 listed parks currently have a status label, such as a closure, a paused day pass or an ended season. These labels come from the parks’ own websites.

Does a resort water park require a hotel stay?

Not always. Some resort parks sell day passes to visitors who are not staying overnight; others admit hotel guests only. See how day passes work.

Can every child use every slide?

No. Height, weight, age and supervision rules belong to each attraction. A park’s general admission rules do not mean every child can ride everything. Check the ride list on the official site.

What does the full price include?

Admission may not include parking, lockers, towels, cabanas or tube rentals. Online prices often differ from gate prices, and many parks price by date. Where a park page here shows a price, it also shows the date it was checked.

Can you bring food and a cooler?

Rules differ by park. Some allow sealed water or small coolers, others allow no outside food. Where a park published its rule, the park page lists it.

What about swimwear and personal flotation?

Many parks require proper swimwear and provide life jackets for some attractions. Check the park’s rules page.
